- 7 Hotels You Must Visit in 2021
Instagram, our friends, and magazines have us poring over images of faraway beaches and forests with great envy. There are so many countries to venture to but it’s so tricky deciding on where to visit next. Is it a day spent by sapphire waters and on powdery sand? Or a trek through a mountain range to catch an unforgettable sunrise?
If you’re unsure of the best countries to visit, at Arburton we can help. We have put together a list of the best countries to visit in 2019, and here they are:
Torn between beaches and jungle? Then Costa Rica is for you. Costa Rica, one of the cool vacation spots, is a paradise packed with biodiversity with a warm climate to match the locals’ hospitality. Eco-tourism flourishes here and many resorts embrace the natural wildlife. If you want a change from cats and dogs, it’s not rare to find monkeys springing between guarumo trees and sloths chilling out in their natural habitat.
For those after a road trip meandering through the mountains and mesmerizing views, visit Alberta for one of your vacation ideas. Head to the Canadian Rockies and ride from Calgary to Jasper, where you’re spoiled with 266 miles of glacier views.
Bighorn sheep, elk, and marmots call this landscape home and you can spot them as you go. Enjoy the slow pace ride and drink in the aqua-coloured lakes and looming mountains. To break up the journey, go for a hike to immerse yourself in the Canadian Rockies and the calmness of this environment.
There aren’t many countries that have had the luxury to preserve their heritage since ancient times like Armenia. Wander around the oldest monasteries on record or take the world’s longest cable car over Vorotan canyon, a captivating landscape.
If you’re after travel ideas, head to Yerevan for several days to absorb Armenian city life. The capital has a lively nightlife with many European style bars offering Armenian wine and cognac, their delicacies. Yerevan is a great entryway into Armenian life and there are plenty of museums offering a glimpse into their history.
Often overlooked and used as a passage to Croatia, Montenegro is a cool place to visit in the world. Montenegro is small but offers admirable highlands, unique Venetian villages and inviting waters.
Visit Herceg Novi, a fortified city that protects the UNESCO Bay of Kotor. Herceg Novi is filled with enchanting churches, ancient fortresses and an array of hip cafes, restaurants, and bars. Take a dip in the pristine waters at pebble bay or, for the more adventurous, try cliff-jumping at nearby Uvala Veslo.
Even though it’s an island, Madeira is not for beach bums but for those prepared for an outdoorsy adventure. This island sits in the Atlantic Ocean, 540 miles from the Lisbon shores, and is in an eternal bloom with lush vegetation and dazzling flowers.
Madeira is perfect for hikers as there is a selection of trails to choose from and as you walk, you’ll come across quaint villages dotted around the island. The capital is Funchal where many tourists base themselves as it catches the most sun.
When you’re here, expect the freshest seafood especially Madeira’s delicacy, Espada, which is a long, blackfish with huge eyes. If you’re fed up of regular island holidays, check out Madeira for a unique island experience.
For those after R&R on a dreamy beach, Los Cabos is for you. Delicious food, buzzing nightlife and adventure activities keep you occupied as you top up your tan. Luxurious hotels line the front, many complete with infinity pools and exceptional service. Once you’re all tanned-out, go whale watching and try to spot the mighty humpback whale. The waters that surround Cabo are a hotspot for whale breeding and a migratory stop for this species, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For a day out, head to Cabo Pulmo National Park which is rich in biodiversity and natural beauty. Cabo Pulmo stretches five miles along the coast and there you’ll find the oldest living reef on the west coast of North America. If humpback whales aren’t enough, you can also see dolphins, sea turtles and sea lions.
Cuba is a history buffs paradise and great for travel and leisure. Cuba conjures images of colourful Spanish colonial facades, vintage cars and musicians filling up the street with their lively music. And that’s exactly what you get.
Head to Havana, one of the top vacation destinations, and take a stroll along the Malecon, which runs along the seafront, as it offers splendid views of life in the city. As Cuba’s history is complex, a visit to the Museo de la Revolución is necessary to bulk up your knowledge of the key people who fought to make Cuba what it is today. Let Havana’s energy whisk you into the evening and head to Ernest Hemingway’s favourite bar, El Floridita, where the daiquiri was born.
After looking through the best countries to visit, hopefully, you have a better idea of where you’d like to explore. It’s difficult to decide between a revitalizing beach holiday or taking the road less travelled. Either way, both offer inspiring cultural experiences and striking landscapes to last a lifetime. So what are you waiting for? Let’s go!
